He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ole Kristian Nielsen and Birgitte Albertsen; his siblings, Kaj and Lis; his wife Karen Allen; his children, Chris Nielsen (Lori) of Rustico, PEI, Alan Nielsen (Sharon) of Belleville, ON, Susan Nielsen (Andreas Kayss) of Bebra Germany, Anne Nielsen (Phil Carter) of Calgary, AB and Lisa Cyrulik (John) of Charleston, SC; his stepdaughters, Diane Allen of London and Jenny Nicol (Gordon) of Mesa Arizona; and his sister Gunhild Elisabet of Herning, Denmark.. He was also cherished by extended family includes thirteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He continued to play actively until the covid epidemic forced him to put down his racket.
