He was predeceased by : his parents, Jan Pieter Kegel and Cornelia Kaiser; his stepmother Cornelia Maryke Kruithof; his siblings, Henk Kegel, Jaap Kegel, Mari Kegel, Miep Van Dyken, Jannie Kegel and Jan Kegel; and his grandson Alan Kieft.
He is survived by : his wife Geraldine; his daughters, Marie (Andrew Kieft), Valerie (Arnold Sikkema) and Lisa (Brian Vanderhout); his great grandchildren, Rachel, Jonathan Van Tol (Clara), Evan, Renee, Corinna Kieft, William, Ashley Sikkema, Kristin, Paul Robinson (Dorothea), Nadine Sikkema, Laura, Andrew Bosscher (Jaimee), Marlaina, Scott Post (Maizie), Bradley Vanderhout and Ashley Nienhuis; his sibling Kees Kegel (Corrie Van); his sons, Ben Kegel (Rie), Arie Kegel (Betsy), Maryke Jordaan (Wim) and Hans Kegel (Joke); and his brothers, Klaas Grit, Lucas Grit, Swansie Knight and John Grit (Harma). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
