He was predeceased by: his father John Weir; and his in-laws, Joseph and Olga Hanc. He is survived by: his wife Irene Weir (Hanc); his children, Chelsea (Cam Wielhouwer), Jeffery Weir and Matt Haass; his grandchildren, Cameron and Mila; his mother Sue; his siblings, Brian (Janice), John (late Twyla) and Tracey; Rose. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home (36 Lake Ave Dr, Stoney Creek, ON L8G3N3). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Gregory the Great Slovenian Catholic Church (125 Centennial Pkwy N, Hamilton, ON L8E1H8).
