He is survived by: his children, Christopher Phillips (Debbie) of Kitchener, Gary Phillips of Plattsville, Donna Dechert (Steven) of Plattsville, Ontario. and Julie Painting (Paul); his grandchildren, Hannah, Maggie and Isaac; his son William Hamilton (Christie) of Toronto; his grandson Liam; and his siblings, Helen Mawhinney (late Gordon), Robert and Marion Verhel (late Chester).
