He is survived by: his children, Rees (Laura) and Kyle (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Logan, Cara, Killian and Dominic; his siblings, Michael (Marie Anne) and Elena (Michael Mazal); and his nieces and nephews, Jason, Ellen, Xander and Zane.

As expressions of sympathy donations in memory of Nelson to Diabetes Canada would be appreciated by the family.
