Stephen will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honour Stephen by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Stephen is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Stephen’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gail Bartlett and Paul Zago; his sister Kate; his stepson Daniel (Jaz); and his grandson Rowan.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 234 (57 Watson Pkwy S, Guelph, ON N1E6Y9). When Steve was grounded by Covid in 2020 he and his friend and fellow pilot Adam Wright turned lemons into lemonade and founded the Lost Aviator Coffee Company.
