He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Stachnyk and Nicholas Stachnyk; and his siblings, Myron, Leon, Peter, Nettie and Ollie.

He is survived by: his significant other Anna; his children, Philip Stachnyk (Fiona McCrea), Teresa Fontinato (Roger) and Christine Benedetti; his grandchildren, Andrew and Nikolas; and his sister Doris Festeryga.
