He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Keais and Bea Keais; and his siblings, Darlene MacKenzie and John Keais. He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his sons, Michael (Lianne) and Christopher; his grandchildren, William, Charlotte, Gabriel and Julianna; and his sisters, Ann McFarlane and Sandra Southwick. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
