She was predeceased by : her husband Austin Hallam Slack; her daughter Helen "Marlene" Waddle; her parents, Wilbert Rowntree and Erie; her siblings, Alvin (Genevieve), Beverly Rowntree (Ethel) and Jean Awde (Bill); her brother-in-law Hans Trainer; her parents-in-law, William Stallwood and Emma "Francis" Slack; and her daughter Marlene "Marlie".

She is survived by : her sister-in-law Eileen (Doug Martin); her daughter Emily "Janet" Beam (Alan); her grandchildren, Toby Alan Beam (Lisa), Todd Michael Beam and Kevin Richard Waddle; her great grandchildren, Megan Marlie, Trevor Alan and Christian Joseph; her sister Marie Trainer; and her sister-in-law Grace Lockert.
