He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Stewart; and his parents, Andrew Smith and Elizabeth Margaret. He is survived by: his children, Laurence (Mona), Russell, Pauline Ackerman (Lee) and Crawford; and his grandchildren, Rose Ackerman (Josh), Charles Ackerman and Coralie Salesse-Smith (Ed).
