He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicola Pietro and Domenica Di Pietro; his in-laws, Antonio and Clementina Filice; and his siblings, Anna (Orlando Verrecchia), Ada Filice, Maria (Eugenio Leone), Raffaele Filice, Pietro (Maria Filice) and Dora (Sam Mule).
He is survived by: his wife Margherita; his children, Nick, Stephanie, John (Piccoli), David and Nadia; his grandchildren, Sofia, Michael and Nathan; and his siblings, Carlo (Giosy Di Pietro), Mario (Diane Di Pietro), Michele (Anna Filice) and Francesco (Flora Filice). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 3rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Markey Dermody Funeral Home (1774 King St E, Hamilton, ON L8K 1V7). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, February 4th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church (200 Mt Albion Rd, Hamilton, ON L8K5S9).
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to McMaster Children's Hospital or Good Shepherd Centre.
