It is with sadness that the passing of Alfonso Antonio Burgio (Hamilton, Ontario) is shared. Alfonso, born on May 13, 1945, passed away on September 21, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Josie (Sardo); his sons, Manny (Cassandra) and Sonny (Gianna); his grandchildren, Gabriella (Jordan), Antonio Gianpaolo (Anna) and Alexa (Adrian); his great grandchildren, Isaiah and Dakota; his parents, Emanuele and Alfonsa; his in-laws, Salvatore and Ninetta Sardo; his siblings, Santina (Joe), Joe (Connie), Carm (Mary) and John (Sue); and his brothers-in-law, Ray (Maria) and Joe (Nancy). He was also cherished by his many nephews and nieces, as well as his many cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the P. X. Dermody Funeral Home (796 Upper Gage Ave, Hamilton, ON L8V4K4). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Assumption (63 Highway 20 East, Stoney Creek, ON L8J2W9).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Bob Kemp Hospice and Keaton's House, Paul Paletta Children's Hospice would be appreciated.
