He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Domenic Rao (Butch) and Jennie Rao; his wife Sharon Rao; his daughters, Jen Rao (Marc Charron) and Danielle McGillivray (Alastair); his granddaughter Alice; his sister Joanne Pavanetto (Louie); and his pet Willow.

The family requests donations be made to the Hamilton SPCA in lieu of flowers.
