He was predeceased by: his parents, Carol June (Montour) and Clayb Brant; his uncle Sid Brant; his cousin Patrick Nahmabin; and his niece Kelly Szczesniak.

He is survived by: his children, Katera Marsden (Dale), Katrina Brant (Ryan) and Brian Brant Jr.; his siblings, Dale Szczesniak (Dave), Marlene Watson (Todd), Carolyn Brant and Jody Brant; and his grandchildren, Brooks, Claire, Hannah and Jack. He is also survived by many aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made by donation to the Mark Preece Family House in Hamilton, which allowed his children to remain close by while he was in the hospital or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 164 in Hagersville of which Brian was a member.
