He was predeceased by: his grandfather Lala (Gabriel); his parents, George Abel and Alice Abel; his brothers, George Abel (Fran), Ronnie Abel and Frank Abel (Joan); and his parents-in-law, Philip and Bridget O'Sullivan.
He is survived by: his wife Maureen Abel; his son John Abel (Nancy); and his siblings-in-law, Philip O'Sullivan, Eileen O'Sullivan, Johnny O'Sullivan (Francis), Delia Matthews (Ray) and Patrick O'Sullivan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as extended family.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Bay Garden Funeral Home (947 Rymal Rd E, Hamilton, ON L8W3M2). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lord Parish (280 Limeridge Rd W, Hamilton, ON L9C2V2). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Our Lord Church (280 Limeridge Rd W, Hamilton, ON L9C2V2).
In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Annunciation of our Lord Parish, or the Good Shepherd Centers.
