He was predeceased by: his parents, Decimo Castronovo and Mariangela Castronovo; his parents-in-law, Salvatore and Giovanna Baio; and his siblings, Decimo Castronovo, Antonio Castronovo (Anna), Giovanni (Gerlanta Castronovo), Providenza (Giacomo Cimino), Antonietta (Carmelo DiGirgenti), Grazia Butera (Salvatore) and Paquale Baio (Maria).
He is survived by: his wife Antonietta; his children, Mary-Angela Korec (Taras) and Decimo Castronovo (Lisa); his grandchildren, Gabriella Schierling (Troy), Tanya, Christian, Cynthia, Michael, Isabella and Matteo; his great grandchildren, Emelia and Celeste; and his sisters, Francesca Castiglione (late Leonardo), Maria Calandrino (Giuseppe), Giuseppina DiPietro (late Vittorio) and Carmela Butera (Calogero). He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations to the Good Shepherd Centre of Hamilton.
