He was predeceased by: his wife Anna; his children, Mary Jane (Maurice) and Joseph (Shelley); his grandchildren, Michael, Stephen (Danielle), Katherine (Ben), Sarah (Marc) and Natalie (Adam); his great grandchildren, Emerson, Mila, Tucker, Olivia, Emily, Baylor, Anna and Howard; his parents, Giuseppe Monaco and Maria Monaco; his in-laws, Agostino and Margherita Ballone; his siblings, Annunziata Cianferro (late Gaetano) and Crescenza Suffoletta (Giuseppe); and his siblings-in-law, Armando Ballone (late Iole) and Adriana Diodati (Aldo). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bay Gardens Funeral Home (947 Rymal Rd E, Hamilton, ON L8W3M2). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Margaret Mary Parish (20 Idlewood Ave, Hamilton, ON L8T1V9). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 from 11:45 AM to 12:15 PM at the same location.
He was a three-time winner of the Kelly Award, awarded by the Association of Iron and Steel Engineers, for work judged of great merit and a significant contribution to the technological advancement of the steel industry.
