He was predeceased by: his wife Norma Cino Olarie; his daughter Natalie Smurthwaite (Frank Miniaci); his stepson Carl Cino; and his grandchildren, Kate MacKay, Ian Smurthwaite (Adrienne Cabral) and Heather Smurthwaite (Lucas Deveaux).

In lieu of flowers a donation to the Cancer Society in his name would be appreciated.
