He was predeceased by: his sisters, Antonietta Mungo and Nicolina Battaglia. He is survived by: his spouse Rigoletta (Nina); his children, Marianna Mitchell, Joseph, Angelo, Nick (Susan), Antonietta and Maria; his grandchildren, Brianne, Mark, John and Nicole; and his great grandchildren, Malani, Jackson, Ava and Jack. He is also survived by numerous extended family and friends.
Donations in Giovanni's memory may be made to Good Shepherd Centre or Salvation Army.
