He was predeceased by: his parents, Hans Schmiedeberg and Anna Marie Schmiedeberg. He is survived by: his wife Darlene; his sister Christine Schwant (late Gus); his siblings-in-law, Tony and Gloria Romanic; his children, Alexander Peter Schmiedeberg and Tracey Ann Hawkins (late Ross Ayotte); his grandchildren, Sarah and Chris Prowse; his great grandchildren, Lily and Lila Prowse; his stepson Eric Bielecke (Rhonda); and his grandchildren, Jacob, Colton, Vanessa Bielecke (Winston) and Mallory Mark.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hans' memory to the Cancer Assistance Program or the SPCA.
