Irene leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Irene’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Irene will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph; her son Michael Mattei; and her parents, Patrick Melanson and Muriel Melanson. She is survived by: her children, Peter and Laura Mattei; and her grandchildren, Michael, Joseph and Madeleine.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home (90 Garner Rd E, Ancaster, ON L9G3K9). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church (620 Rymal Rd E, Hamilton, ON L8W1B3).
