John Alfred touched many lives and will be remembered fondly for the moments shared and the memories created. Family, friends, and colleagues extend their love and support during this time. He was predeceased by: his siblings, Mary Paton (Oscar), Terence, Leonard, Stanley and Alex (Anne Hentschel); and his nieces, Patricia "Pat" Kappel (Bob) and Gail Westoby (Pete).
He is survived by: his nieces, Darlene Ellis (Bob) and Lauren (Steve Eder); and his nephew John (Donna Proia). He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM and on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the P. X. Dermody Funeral Home (796 Upper Gage Ave, Hamilton, ON L8V4K4). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location.
