It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Francis Shannon (Hamilton, Ontario), who passed away on November 18, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his siblings, Buddy and Gloria Pitre (Steve). He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Lenore (Dan) and Dan (Kris); his grandsons, Aaron and Ethan; his siblings, Shirley LeBlanc (Fred), Gerry Shannon (Claudette), Jo, Jim Shannon (Jeannette) and Bob Shannon (Val); and his sibling-in-law Jean Shannon. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke's Parish, St. Peter's Residence at Chedoke or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

I recall at my grandfather's (Uncle Jack's father) funeral, Uncle Jack going upstairs to have a coffee with me and realizing (later on) it was one of the first times that I was being addressed as an adult. He (and Aunt Mag) always showed great kindness and generosity to us when we visited and later lived in Ontario. You will me missed, and my heartfelt condolences to Mag, Lenore and Dan. John and Margaret Pitre”
