John MacDonald Obituary

We are sad to announce that on September 16, 2025, at the age of 85, John MacDonald of Hamilton, Ontario, born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward MacDonald and Mary MacDonald (Breen); his wife Linda MacDonald (Hill); and his siblings, Joe MacDonald, Barbara MacDonald and Jimmy MacDonald.

He is survived by: his siblings, Viola Carmichael (Frank) and Ronnie MacDonald (Alvina); and his children, Laura Parkinson (Derek), Mandy Grieve (John), John MacDonald and David MacDonald (Christine). He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion (12 King St E, Stoney Creek, ON L8G1J8). A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Margaret's Place Hospice, Dundas or the Hamilton SPCA - two places that reflect John's heart: full of care for people and animals alike.
