John will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honour John by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though John is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. John’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his sibling Beverly Sherwood; and his former wife Betty Stewart (Thompson). He is survived by: his brother David Stewart; his wife Patricia Stewart; his sons, Bradley (Allana) and Donald Stewart (Sheri); his granddaughter Michelle Wardle (Dan); and his stepchildren, Tracey, Lorie (Ted) and Scott (Julie). He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Kitching, Steepe & Ludwig Funeral Home (146 Mill St N, Waterdown, ON L0R2H0). A graveside service was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Grove Cemetery. A funeral service was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at the same location.
