He is survived by: his spouse Margriet; his children, Denise, Kenn Hughes, Yvonne, Derek Burke, Zacc, Winnie Burke, Ezra, Levi, Luca, Brianna, Sam Overgaauw, Olivia, Emma, Luke McQuarrie, Rosie, Carson, Jacob Burke, John, Brenda Van Amerongen, Austin, Brittany Van Amerongen, Kapri, Haven, Knoxx, Ethan Van Amerongen, Marcel Van Amerongen, Jade Neilson and Jeremy Van Amerongen; and his sisters, Diane Stroop and Anna Piper (Charlie).
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the First Christian Reformed Church (181 Charlton Ave W, Hamilton, ON L8P2C9). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the First Hamilton Christian Reformed Church (181 Charlton Ave W, Hamilton, ON L8P2C9). A graveside service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 1:15 PM at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens (700 Chapel Hill Rd, Stoney Creek, ON L8J0B5).
