He was predeceased by: his former wife Sonia. He is survived by: his wife Valerie; his daughter Mary Sonke; his stepchildren, Richard Elliott (Tracy) and Jane (Alan); his siblings, Tom, Matt, John and Betty; his grandchildren, Bradley Joseph Sonke (Shiloh), Khalin Elliott (Chris), Alexander Sonke (Amy), Rachel Tonaj (Tyler), Devon Clement (Devyn), Sarah Opacic (Ilija), Brandon Tonaj, Claudia Sonke, Hayley Elliott (Ben) and Owen Waltham; and his great grandchildren, Carson, Mia, Amara, Penny, Elena, Ksenija, Tyberius, Harrison, Luka and Loretta.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home (36 Lake Ave Dr, Stoney Creek, ON L8G3N3). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
