Joseph Michael Rizzo Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Michael Rizzo (Hamilton, Ontario), who passed away on October 23, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Joseph departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Joseph. Though Joseph may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rose Rizzo (Alfano) and Salvatore Anthony Rizzo; and his wife Sylvia Chitty. He is survived by: his children, Kelly (Stuart Seldon) and Matthew (Anne); and his sister-in-law Margaret Rizzo. He is also survived by his family and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A prayer will be held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at 7:30 PM. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church (23 Sheaffe St, Hamilton, ON L8R2N7). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery (600 Spring Gardens Rd, Burlington, ON L7T1J1).
