We announce the death of Joy Ella Poirier (Hamilton, Ontario), who passed away on September 10, 2026, at the age of 69. Joy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Joy will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Joy will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Joy’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Dave; her son Jeremy (Amanda); her granddaughter Lena; her stepchildren, Mark (Tina) and Tara (Ron); her stepgrandchildren, Alex and Charlotte; her parents, Connie Tingley and Walter Tingley; her sisters, Cindy, Tracey (Jules) and Trina (John); and her brother-in-law Michel. She was also cherished by her many in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 163 (435 Limeridge Rd E, Hamilton, ON L9A2S8).
