He was predeceased by: his wife Ida Fticar; and his son Jozef Fticar Jr.. He is survived by: his son John Fticar (Elizabeth); and his grandchildren, Matthew and Lauren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Markey-Dermody Funeral Home (1774 King St E, Hamilton, ON L8K 1V7). A prayer will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 4:30 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 9:00 AM at the St. Gregory the Great Slovenian Church (125 Centennial Pkwy N, Hamilton, ON L8E3N6). A burial will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery (600 Spring Gardens Rd, Burlington, ON L7T1S9).
