She was predeceased by: her husband Arthur Alves; and her brothers, Aristides, Manuel, George, Januario and Anibal.

She is survived by: her children, Ilda (Gary Lichach), Olga (Arvid Karlsen), James Alves and Norine (Jeffrey Holk); and her grandchildren, Sabrina (Rob Timpano), Vanessa, Ethan and Tessa. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the P. X. Dermody Funeral Home (796 Upper Gage Ave, Hamilton, ON L8V4K4). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (177 Park Row N, Hamilton, ON L8H4E9).
