He was predeceased by: his siblings, Ivan, Nikola and Vlade; and his parents, Ika Zaja and Nikola Zaja.
He is survived by: his spouse Jela Zaja; his children, Julijana Magdic (Drago Magdic), Linda Marijela, Anamarija Breskovic (Ivan), Mario Zaja, Lidija Poff and Kristina Karabegovic; and his sisters, Ana, Marija and Jana. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
