He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Purtell and Beatrice Purtell; his wife Gail Baughan; and his sisters, Beatrice and Mary.
He is survived by: his children, Dale (Dianne) and Katie; his stepsons, Jeff and Jason Baughan; his siblings, Shirley, Eleanor (Arley), Beverly, Barb and Debbie (Phil); his grandchildren, Jesse, Brenden, Kevin, Tesla and Chelsea; his stepgrandchildren, Amber, Jenna, Austin and Tanner; his great grandchildren, Damica, Carliegh, Curtis, Kendall and Ava; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Lilly, Alivia and Landon. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Cresmount Funeral Home Fennell Chapel (322 Fennell Ave E, Hamilton, ON L9A1T2). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
