It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Popek (Hamilton, Ontario), who passed away on May 18, 2026, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Mary Popek to show support.

She was predeceased by: her husband John Popek; her parents, Bartholomew Machocki and Balbina Machocki (Jaros); and her brothers, Bartholomew and Michael Machocki.

She is survived by: her children, Sharon (Terry Middlemiss), Peter (Linda), Bob (Kim) and Paul (Sandy).

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Markey-Dermody Funeral Home (1774 King St E, Hamilton, ON L8K1V7). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 26th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the St. Eugene Church (232 Queenston Rd, Hamilton, ON L8K1G6). A burial will be held on Tuesday, May 26th 2026 at the Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery (600 Spring Gardens Rd, Burlington, ON L7T1S9).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
