She was predeceased by: her husband Frank Novak Sr.; her son-in-law Rick Peterson; her parents, Janez Globocnik and Cecilija Globocnik; her sisters, Dora and Pepca; and her nephews, Draza and Paul.
She is survived by: her children, Simona Peterson and Frank Novak; her sisters-in-law, Slavka Pavlovich (late Dusan), Josephine Novak (late Paul), Vera Vovk (late Franci), Jozica Zupan and Linda Novak; her grandchildren, Adam (Lori), Dylan (Tammy), Serena (Shawn), Jared (Carley), Erica (Brek), Simona and Frank; and her great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Blake, Aubree, Jaxon, Quentin, Bronson, Kipton, Emerson, Ivey and Olivia. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Markey-Dermody Funeral Home (1774 King St E, Hamilton, ON L8K1V7). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 19th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Gregory the Great Church (125 Centennial Pkwy N, Hamilton, ON L8E3N6). An entombment will be held on Thursday, March 19th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Cemetery (681 Mud St E, Hamilton, ON L8J3B8).
