Rosa Moniz Melo Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rosa Moniz Melo (Hamilton, Ontario), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 20, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joao Moniz of Melo and Maria De Jesus Pereira. She is survived by: her children, Jose Augusto (Chris), Glen (Lisa), Nelson (Isabel), Sylvia (John Araujo) and Steve; her grandchildren, Jesse, Deanna (Ryan), Andrew, Gavin, Avery, Madison and Ace; her siblings, Lola Medeiros (Jose), Zelia Borges (Edmundo), Jose (Concecao), Augusto (Maria Urania), Jorge (Ann), Joao Antonio, Maria Clarkson, Maria Ze Silveira (Jose) and Maria Dos Angos Gaspar (Jose-Henrique); her caregivers, Gary and Ashlee; and her granddaughter Alexis. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Friscolanti Funeral Chapel (43 Barton St E, Hamilton, ON L8L2V7). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church (23 Sheaffe St, Hamilton, ON L8R2N7).
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donation to Rosa's favourite charity, the Hamilton Children's Hospital Fund.
