Sheila Blanas (nee Kelos)
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Sheila on Thursday, November 13, 2025, in her 87th year. She will be dearly missed.

Beloved wife of Demetrios (Jim) for over 51 years. Loving mother to Helen (Gus) and John. Adoring Yiayia to Jakob and Chloe. Predeceased by her parents George and Mary Kelos and her brother Tom. She leaves behind extended family and friends, from Canada, Greece and the USA, with whom she always found time to share stories and conversation.

Sheila was born and raised in Thunder Bay, helping with the family business (Mckellar Confectionery), and was a proud and active member of the Greek community. When she met Jim, they married, moved to Hamilton, and were the proud owners of Submarine Express & Pizzeria - Harvard Square, Hamilton until their retirement in 2000.

Mom loved to cook, bake, and was always ready to share a recipe. She enjoyed Aquafit at the YMCA, sewing, playing solitaire, watching NBA and CFL games but above all she loved spending time with her family and pampering her grandchildren. Heartfelt gratitude is extended to the staff at AgeCare Willowgrove for their compassionate care.

A celebration of Sheila’s life was held with her loving family, special nieces and nephews and close friends on Saturday, November 15th in her home.
