He was predeceased by: his wife Dr. Parvathi Basrur; and his daughter Dr. Sheela Basrur. He is survived by: his daughter Jyothi Basrur; his granddaughters, Simone, Natasha and Nina; and his extended family, Sandeep, Kanchan, Shyamla, Sanjay and Subash.
