It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Vlado Stancec (Hamilton, Ontario), who passed away on November 29, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his half-sister Marica; and his parents, Josip Stancec and Bara Stancec. He is survived by: his significant other Milka Stancec; his sons, Ivica (Vera) and Walter (Sherry); his grandchildren, Nakita (Dado), Daniel (Lisa), Brittney (David), Claudia (Elizabeth) and Megan (Mathew); his great grandchildren, Mate, Klara, Selena and Luka; his brother Branko (Hermina); and his nephews, Miro (Sue) and Dylan (Melissa).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Markey-Dermody Funeral Home (1774 King St E, Hamilton, ON L8K 1V7). A prayer was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Eugene's Parish (232 Queenston Rd, Hamilton, ON L8K1G6).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Holy Cross Croatian Church, Croatian National Home or the Croatian Community Centre would be appreciated by the family.
