Patricia Mercey Obituary

We are sad to announce that on June 23, 2023, Patricia Mercey in Hanover, Ontario, born in Chesley, Ontario passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Wilbur Edward and Josephine Carolyn Eby (Benninger); her husband Douglas; and her siblings, Joan Anstett (Jim), Robert and Richard.

She is survived by : her children, Robert, Richard, Tom, Mike, Cathy Harron (Andy) of Hanover, Kim Wettlaufer (Dennis) of Hanover, Michele Cassidy of Owen Sound and David Mercey (Kelly) of Welland; her grandchildren, Brandy Lester (Shane), Jennifer Green (Jeff), Todd Cassidy, Derek Wettlaufer (Claire), Daniel Cassidy (Jose), Branden Mercey, Jarred Mercey, Rehgyn Mercey, Jakob Harron (Sadie) and Sheldon Winter (Dani); her great grandchildren, Tyson, Emerson, Tava, Reid, Jaxx, Emma and Frank; her brothers, Tom Eby of Hanover and Mike Eby (Arlene) of Calgary; and her sisters-in-law, Joan Dekruyf and Janet Ottman.

Then the pandemic hit, and everyone's life was turned upside down. Like most of us, the pandemic brought many challenges, and the isolation was difficult for both of them.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Holy Family building fund (please make cheques payable to Holy Family Catholic Church) would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
