He was predeceased by: his significant other Debbie Simard; and his wife Doreen Mitchell (Williams). He is survived by: his children, Stephen Mitchell of Cambridge, David, Maureen Mitchell of Hamilton, Gordon Mitchell and Evelyn Mateo of Stouffville; his grandchildren, Krystal, Gary Cheddesingh, Kaitlyn Mitchell, Stephanie, Josh Clark, Savana Chester and Cassandra Mitchell; his great grandchildren, Aliyah, Alyssa, Devonne, Arianna, Jordon, Mya, Emerson, Tristan and Sophia; his sibling Gail Leeks of Dorchester; his partner's son Donat Simard (Eileen) of Oakville; William, Lorna Madill of Ramara, Donna Gault of Port Hardy, B. C., Kim Dunlop and Jeff Chaulk of Courtney, B. C..
