She was loved and cherished by many people including : her husband Victor Pereira; her children, Evan Pereira and Ryan Pereira; her parents, Manuel Carreiro and Maria Ema Carreiro (Andrade); her parents-in-law, Domingos and Teresa Pereira (Rocha); her siblings, Lenni Carreiro and Bruce Eveland; her nieces and nephews, Caitlyn Marie Eveland, Kristina Clark (Jamie), Jessica and Brianna Yaciuk; and her siblings-in-law, Elizabeth and Brian Yaciuk.

Memorial donations may be made by cheque to Hogs for Hospice or Transition to Betterness.

“There are no words to describe how sad I am to hear of Evan’s mother Valerie passing. I don’t know the family at all except through watching Evan play hockey with my son Christian. My heart absolutely breaks for the entire family. I can only pray that her leaving the family so early was the will of God and for a purpose we simply don’t understand. I will pray with all of my being that this family can find the strength to pull through this terrible loss. Much love and hugs for the entire famiily.”
