He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerry Schouten and Lorrie Schouten; and his brothers, Gerry Schouten and Tony Schouten. He is survived by: his wife Dianne Schouten; his children, Shannon Cook (Tyee), Shalice Schouten and Joey Schouten (Heather Van Wyck); and his grandchildren, Austin, Waylon, Gemma and Ollie.

A celebration of Joe's life will be held at the Egremont Optimist Club, 392137 Grey Road 109, Holstein on Sunday, August 9th from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Joe are asked to consider the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation.
