He was predeceased by: his stepson Zachary Chrysler; and his brother Jason Smith. He is survived by: his children, Nicole Price (Andrew) and Ben Rutledge; his granddaughter Lylah Joleen Price; his parents, Joanne VanDam and Peter; and his siblings, Julie Kraemer, Laurie Rutledge, Tom Rutledge and Jerry Smith. He is also survived by extended family, many close friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 14th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Dave's Shop (406 Statters Lake Ave, Huron-Kinloss, ON N0G2B0). During the COVID pandemic, when opportunities to pull were limited, Dave built his own truck-pulling track, finding a way to keep doing what he loved.
