He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Betty (White); his children, Michael, Sandra Parkin of Ilderton, Tom, Cindy Parkin of Bright, Gary and Karin Parkin of Guelph; his grandchildren, Tammy (Mike), Tim (Tanya), Kevin (Eileen), Noah (Hannah) and Ebonee (Jamie); his great grandchildren, Bradley, Lauren, Danica, Brody, Hailey, Avery, Braylin, Isabella, Lochlan, Emmersyn, Lennoyx, Layker and Ivy; and his siblings, Jean Colgan and Isabel Murray.
