John Martens Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Martens of Ilderton, Ontario, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 9, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his son Henry; his brother Jack Hereijgers of Bruijn; his parents, Toon Martens and Jonna Martens-Dockx; and his siblings, Catrien Frijters (Kees), Wies Monden-Martens (Jan), Piet Martens (To), Kees Martens (Riet), Sjaan of Koning, Bets Vermeeren-Martens (Kees), Maria Martens-Palada and Coba Hereijgers.
He is survived by: his wife Maria Martens (Hereijgers); his children, Tony, Sharon Martens, Diane Elston, Charles Pickel, Mary Jane, Roy Van Kasteren, Jerry Martens, Joyce Frew, Charlie, Alicia Martens, Marianne, Andy Roelands, Henrietta, Bob Vanhie, Rosemary, Ronald Pols, Joe and Liz Martens; and his siblings, Harrie (Jo Martens), Jo of Koning, Jos Martens, Ria Martens, Annie of Bruijn-Martens, Jan Hereijgers and Mien Hereijgers. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Haskett Funeral Home (456 Main St S, Exeter, ON N0M1S6). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (32922 Richmond St, Lucan, ON N0M2J0). A burial will be held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 12:45 PM.
