He is survived by: his children, Sharon (Neil McKinnon) of Victoria, BC, Marilyn (Peter McLaughlin) of Mahone Bay, NS, Frances of Guelph, ON, David (Laura Beth Stewart) of Vancouver, BC and Jim (Helen Coker) of Woodstock, ON; his grandchildren, Michael (Courtney), Evan (Nicole), Lucas (Marielle), Annie Hammond (Taine), Conor (Sara), Noah, Leo and Charlie Smulders; his child Em Smulders; his great grandchildren, Riley, Findlay, Theodore, Charlotte and Hannah; his sister Joke Steenbergen (Theo); his sister-in-law Mary Smulders; his in-laws, Willy Van Bussel, Bernie Van Bussel, Helmi, John Kaufman, Leny, Brian McHenry, Jim, Cathy Van Bussel, Elly Roestenberg and Joe Czikk; and his granddaughter Jessie.
