He was predeceased by : his mother Viola Gaston; his stepfather Fred Gaston; and his father Rudy Schramm. He is survived by : his significant other Shirley; his children, Elizabeth (Jim), Jennifer and Thomas; his grandsons, Caleb and Ethan; his brother Richard (Pamela); and his nieces and nephews, Alisha, Joel, Paul and Daniel.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Peter's memory.
