He was predeceased by: his grandson Reinhard. He is survived by: his spouse Antoinetta Steyn; his children, Annamarie Retief (Almero) of Saint John and Izak Steyn (Christelle) of Pretoria; his siblings, Tronelle Brand (Arnold) of South Africa, Nico Steyn (Ronel) of South Africa and Douw Steyn (Laurika) of South Africa; and his grandchildren, Dewald, Sarita and Zack. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
