Verla Elizabeth Hogewoning Obituary

With broken hearts we had to say goodbye to our cherished mom, grandma and friend, Verla, who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday June 7, 2026, in her 87th year.

Verla was the loving wife of cherished husband Theo with whom she shared 56 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a life filled with love, family, and treasured memories. She leaves behind her loving daughters Joyce Lee (cherished Kevin) and Sharon Graham (Rob), and her four grandchildren Rebecca, Justin, Kayleigh, and Austin, who were truly the pride and joy of her life. Verla spent her entire life in Jordan, living next door to her late parents, Sidney and Sadie Reynolds. She was a devoted sister to the cherished Ida Ritter (cherished Herb), cherished Eileen Kyle (cherished George), and cherished George Reynolds (Bev). She will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Verla was a member of the Jordan Church of Christ. She worked for several years on fruit farms and Niagara Nurseries. She volunteered with Heart and Stroke Foundation for many years and was an active member of The Women's Institute. Above all, Verla cherished time with her family. She especially enjoyed making memories with grandchildren, family vacations, and bus trips with friends and loved ones. Verla's gentle spirit, caring heart, and unwavering love for her family and friends will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening June 11th from 6:00-8:00pm at Tallman Funeral Homes (3277 King Street, Vineland). Funeral service to be held at Tallman Funeral Homes on Friday June 12th at 11:00am with a visitation 1 hour prior to service.
